Stepdown RN
About the role
As our Registered Nurse in the Stepdown Unit at CHI St. Vincent, you will help patients transitioning from intensive care achieve optimal health and independence so they can return home safely and confidently.
Every day you will provide direct patient care, collaborate effectively with physicians, other healthcare providers, and patients and their families, and manage complex patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Check patients' health status daily and note any changes or concerns
- Care for multiple patients throughout the same shift, often varying in age and condition
- Monitor patients with life-saving medical equipment such as IVs, catheters, feeding tubes, and ventilators
- Provide a comfortable and secure environment for the patient while acting as their advocate
- Administer medications and monitor vital signs
Requirements
- Registered Nurse license in Arkansas, upon hire
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification, within 30 days
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification, within 12 months
- Previous stepdown and/or ICU experience for PRN roles
