STEM Teacher at Ivy Prep Academy

About the Role

The STEM Teacher is responsible for educating assigned students and creating a flexible, STEM-focused learning environment that fosters growth in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The teacher will establish rapport with students, motivate them to develop essential skills and knowledge, and maintain professional relationships with staff and parents.

Responsibilities

  • Provides content-related and appropriate instruction based on Ivy Prep Academy’s STEM curriculum.
  • Integrates intentional technology into classroom instruction.
  • Actively participates in and utilizes professional learning, particularly in STEM fields, to support innovation.
  • Teaches subject matter using the course of study adopted by the Board of Education, adapting curriculum to meet individual student needs.
  • Develops lesson plans and translates them into productive student learning experiences using effective teaching techniques.
  • Utilizes computers and other technological classroom support equipment in instruction.
  • Maintains classroom organization, discipline, and a safe learning environment.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
  • Promotes a positive school environment that enhances student learning.
  • Measures student progress using appropriate techniques and evaluates academic and personal growth.
  • Communicates with parents regarding academic and personal progress and interprets school programs.
  • Cooperates with other professional staff in academic and personal growth areas.
  • Demonstrates professional ethics as outlined by the Georgia Professional Standards Committee.
  • Conforms to District policies, including attendance, absences, and evaluations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Georgia Educator’s Certificate preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 1+ years of experience.
