About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Elementary STEM Specialist to join our dedicated elementary specialist team for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will inspire young learners through engaging and hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills through the authentic learning design process.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement an interactive STEM curriculum that encourages creativity and innovation and aligns with state standards and school goals, including project-based learning, digital literacy, computer programming, and coding, while incorporating disciplinary literacy skills and facilitating authentic learning.
  • Deliver engaging lessons that promote inquiry-based learning and encourage student exploration in STEM subjects.
  • Provide instruction on research skills, digital citizenship, and the effective use of technology.
  • Teach students how to think computationally and create new technologies.
  • Ensure opportunities for library book check-out.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through formal and informal assessments, providing feedback to support learning.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners and promotes collaboration.
  • Utilize technology and digital resources to enhance student learning and engagement in STEM subjects.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with STEM education trends and best practices.
  • Work closely with other teachers, parents, and community partners to support student learning and promote STEM initiatives.
  • Organize and lead extracurricular STEM-related clubs, competitions, and events.
  • Host an annual Science Fair as an enrichment opportunity for students.

Requirements

  • Elementary Teaching License or Library Media Specialist License (Grades K–12).
  • Experience in teaching elementary students, preferably in STEM education.
  • Strong understanding of or willingness to learn STEM concepts and ability to teach them effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with project-based learning and hands-on activities.
  • Experience integrating technology in the classroom.
  • Knowledge of coding and robotics is a plus.

Pay

Salary can range anywhere between $52,020 and $126,971 depending upon education level and experience.
