Special Education Teacher - 1.0 FTE, Resource - Sun Path Elementary School

About the Role

Shakopee Public Schools is seeking a 1.0 FTE Resource Special Education (SpEd) Teacher to serve students with special education needs at the elementary school level (grades K-5) for the 2026-2027 school year.

Deliver direct and indirect services to students with learning and/or social, emotional, and behavioral needs; monitor and document student progress; develop and manage IEPs; facilitate team meetings; oversee paraprofessionals; and collaborate with families and other staff on services and strategies.

Requirements

• Current and valid MN teaching license in ASD, EBD, DCD, or ABS
• Prior teaching experience preferred
• Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction
• Strong classroom management skills
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents, and staff

Working Conditions

• Physical ability to attend to personal care needs of students, if necessary
• Classroom, office, lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, sitting, keyboarding, etc.

Pay

Salary can range anywhere between $52,020 to $126,971 depending upon education level and experience.
