STEM School Part Time Elementary Intervention Specialist K-5
Position Summary/Basic Function
The Dayton Regional STEM School seeks an innovative and creative Part Time Intervention Specialist elementary level teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. Intervention Specialist will maximize the learning experience of students with special needs, in academics, interpersonal skills and activities of daily living by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities, outcomes; addressing students' specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
Essential Functions And Percent Of Time
Creating and implementing IEPs
Evaluate students to identify their unique strengths and needs.
Develop and implement IEPs.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student success.
Monitor and report on student progress regularly.
Coincide with external agencies for additional student services when necessary.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Use data to guide and refine interventions.
Non-Essential Functions and percent of time
Participate in various meetings (including IEPs, conferences, etc.), collaborate with other teachers, and Professional Development opportunities.
Maintain contact and communication with parents and students and work with them in development of each student.
Make use of instructional resources and technologies and proactively contribute to the development of the school and assigned class to improve the educational quality of its students.
Engage in continuous and sustained reflection on teaching practices and leadership behaviors, and adapt methods as needed to achieve school goals and performance objectives.
Participate in building leadership activities and be a team player.
Participate in the curriculum development process throughout employment.
