STEM Assistant Instructor - After School
About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals to work as Assistant Instructors in our after school programs. Assistant instructors support our Lead Instructors to guide students through our world class, project based learning curriculum to discover new technology skills in coding, Minecraft, ROBLOX, video editing, game design and more!
Responsibilities
- Support Lead Instructors in guiding students through our curriculum
- Teach in-room classes to students aged 8-14
- Work with teacher-to-student ratios of 20:1 for elementary schoolers
- Work part-time, after school hours (approximately 2:00 - 6:00 PM), Monday to Friday
- Attend paid training
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completed 48 college units minimally OR have taken and passed the NCLB Exam or compliant equivalent
- Experience with technology or teaching preferred
- Available after school hours (approximately 2:00 - 6:00 PM), Monday to Friday
- At least 21 years of age and have significant experience working with children ages 8-14 or technology
- Comfortable working with teacher-to-student ratios of 20:1 for elementary schoolers
- Strong technology skills preferred, such as a background in 3D modeling, digital arts, coding, game creation or design, animation, robotics, modifying games, video editing, competitive gaming, etc. or significant knowledge of Minecraft or Roblox, including modding or streaming
Qualifications
No formal experience required, but teaching experience in some capacity highly preferred.

Pay
$17/hr - $18/hr
Schedule
Part-time, after school hours (approximately 2:00 - 6:00 PM), Monday to Friday
Full school year in 10 week sessions, with options to continue into additional seasons
Get in-room teaching experience with excited students
No substitutes available
Instructors must be at least 21 years of age
Consistent attendance is REQUIRED
Teaching experience in some capacity highly preferred
Significant experience working with children ages 8-14 or technology, both is even better!
Experience with children in an educational setting is preferred but not required
