About the role

Sets up and operates roll forming and rolling equipment to bend and shape metal plates into arcs, cylinders, cones, and custom profiles according to specifications. Adjust machine settings, roll positions, and feed speeds to control curvature and ensure product accuracy, using blueprints, templates, and measurement tools. Operates associated secondary equipment and supports production by assembling components and performing fabrication tasks while following safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate plate rolling machines (3-roll, 4-roll) to roll steel into required shapes and dimensions
  • Ability to roll cones and cylinders
  • Measure arcs, diameters, and straightness using templates, gauges, and measuring tools
  • Conduct daily machine inspections and ability to troubleshoot and correct issues with equipment or materials during operation
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment to move materials
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision
  • Follow CB&I Safety Rules, PPE requirements and Shop Policies

  • Exposure to heat, noise, and industrial conditions
  • Indoor/outdoor fabrication or manufacturing facility
  • Fast-paced environment with heavy equipment and tight production schedules
  • Requires strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE
  • Normal work environment will be shop or field which will require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, working near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles

Sedentary Work: Lifting 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools.

Light Work: Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.

Medium Work: Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds (overhead level).

Heavy Work: Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Very Heavy Work: Lifting objects more than 100 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds or more (to shoulder height).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred
  • 2-5+ years of experience in steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing
  • Proven experience operating steel plate roll machine or similar metal forming machinery
  • Knowledge and ability to read blueprints and tape measure
  • Ability to work with a variety of hand tools including angle grinders, drills and polishers

  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate for effective teamwork and reporting issues promptly

Schedule

  • Standard work schedule is 4 days a week (Monday- Thursday), 10 hours a day
  • Mandatory Overtime on weekends based on production needs
