Steel Department - Machine Operator - 1st Shift

About the role

Cardinal Systems Inc. is one of the nation's largest technologically advanced manufacturers of galvanized steel walls for in-ground swimming pools. We also produce steel steps and benches, aluminum coping, liner track, deck drains, liner bead, and other custom fabrications.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of product knowledge to perform quality checks on parts
• Learn how to knowledgeably read prints/documents
• Gain understanding of the process and flow of the department
• Maintain a level of quality that meets or exceeds the company standard
• Learn how to complete production and quality data sheets with accuracy
• Gain knowledge to operate two work centers
• Learn how to start up, shut down, and run assigned manufacturing processing equipment
• Operate machines at a rate which will meet scheduled production requirements while maintaining safety and quality standards
• Learn how to perform machine adjustments & setup
• Understand company's work instructions, production standards, safety procedures, quality standards, and SOP's

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred
• Previous forklift operation experience preferred
• Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently
• Proficient math skills required
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Will be required to climb, lift, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. independently
