Essential Functions
- Design STEAM programming that integrates into the appropriate grade-level curriculum aligned to the Pennsylvania Academic Standards
- Deliver STEAM instruction that is differentiated to meet the needs of a diverse population of students
- Teach concepts related to engineering design, coding, robotics, digital literacy, maker education and innovation
- Utilize inquiry-based instructional strategies that promote student curiosity and problem-solving skills
- Encourage students to take risks and learn from mistakes through design process
- Maintain and manage STEAM equipment, supplies and instructional materials
- Communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress
- Evaluate each student's growth and knowledge, skills, and scientific attitudes in the course being taught
- Maintain professional competence through professional development activities provided by the District and self-selected professional growth activities
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel to more than one work location
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
- Pennsylvania Instructional Teaching Certificate on Science, Technology, Arts, Mathematics or Elementary for 5th & 6th Grade. STEM Endorsement/Certification preferred

- Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Sometimes required to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must meet deadlines with severe time constraints
Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but may be moderate to loud at times
- The employee is frequently required to interact with the parents, public and staff during and after the normal workday
- The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and exhibit good human relation skills including courtesy, tact and patience
