STEAM / SMART LAB TEACHER (K-8th Grades)

Minimum Qualifications

• A valid Michigan Teacher's Certificate.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid State of Michigan (EX, and/or DI, and/or DX, and/or NR) endorsement(s).
• Experience working with K-8 students.
• Knowledge of STEAM and educational technology.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily SMART Lab instruction.
• Integrate STEAM concepts through project-based learning.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
• Use a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery, etc.
• Translate lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize available time for instruction.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
• Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
• Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students' progress.
• Maintain current student data including all relevant measures of academic progress.
• Maintain SMART Lab equipment and inventory.

Requirements

• Newly hired employees must satisfactorily pass reference checks and police clearance including digital fingerprinting.
