Job Summary
Help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, capable, and responsible citizens. Provide a positive, healthy, and safe environment in which the student can achieve maximum potential. Develop and maintain a program of STEAM education that uses the best advantages of computers and other technology capabilities in the school/district for the educational excellence of instructional program.
Essential Functions
- Develop, implement and evaluate the STEAM Innovation program of the school.
- Cooperate with other instructional leaders and educators to determine appropriate use of technology for instruction in various subject areas.
- Recommend the purchase of material for the implementation, improvement and enhancement of instruction in the school (Innovation Lab).
- Cookordinate the distribution of computer hardware and software in the school.
- Maintain an inventory of computer equipment and catalog of software in the school.
- Review and evaluate new commercial software as it is developed and communicate such evaluation to the instructional leaders of the school and the District.
- Provide for staff development in the use of the computer as an instructional tool.
- Work with curriculum committees to develop or procure computer programs or software to meet instructional objectives.
- Develop and maintain community partnerships that increase opportunities for students and staff (through donations, internships, observations, guest speaks, field trips and camps, etc.).
- Represent the school's STEAM Innovation program to the public through computer workshops and other presentations.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Develop reasonable rules of lab behavior and procedure, and maintain order in a fair and just manner.
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Possess or be eligible to receive a Colorado Teaching License with the appropriate endorsement.
- The Colorado Teaching License must be held within 30 days of the candidate's start date in this teaching position.
- Candidate must meet "in-field" status by being endorsed in the content area, have passed the currently-accepted Praxis exam(s) in the content area, and/or have 24 semester credits in the content area as identified by the Colorado Department of Education.
- Over three years of experience as a secondary classroom teacher.
