Steam Fireman - CoGen - Walpole

About the role

This position reports directly to the Second/Third Class Power Plant Engineer and operates power plant boilers and associated equipment in a combined heat and power system.

Responsibilities

• Maintains appropriate logs and records as required.
• Performs proper boiler water treatment activities.
• Repairs, overhauls, and maintains power plant machinery and equipment.
• Prepares boilers for inspection.
• Maintains clean work areas.
• Complies with all Complex health, safety, and security procedures.
• Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs. or more.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Possession of a current and valid First or Second Class Steam Fireman’s license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety, pursuant to Chapter 146 of the Massachusetts General Laws.
• No felony convictions, including any actions defined in 5 U.S.C. 301; U.S.C. 509, 510; 42 U.S.C. 15601–15609.
• Must not have engaged in sexual abuse in a prison or other institution as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1997, or been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force or coercion, or where the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse.
• Incidents of sexual harassment may be considered in determining eligibility for hire.
