Contract role, remote, 10–40 hrs/week, $80–$160/hour.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex statistical-physics phenomena, focusing on replicated random-bond Ising/Ashkin-Teller models and the Nishimori line.
- Deliver well-documented solutions or critiques on Kramers-Wannier duality and quenched disorder averaging.
- Engage in advanced numerical work on 4-state Potts model simulations and interpretation.
- Resolve technical challenges involving noncontractible loop defects and related topological features.
- Participate as a Solver, Auditor, or Adjudicator on project assignments based on experience and strengths.
Requirements
- Advanced academic background (PhD or equivalent experience) in physics, specializing in statistical physics, quantum information, or condensed-matter theory.
- Hands-on experience with Kramers-Wannier duality, quenched disorder averaging, and square-lattice self-duality.
- Proficiency in numerical simulations involving the 4-state Potts model and domain-wall free-energy analysis.
- Familiarity with topological quantum codes, particularly the toric code and its threshold phenomena.
