About the role
The Stationary Engineer will oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of critical mechanical and electrical systems within Northridge Hospital Medical Center, ensuring a stable and efficient facility for all occupants.
Responsibilities
- Work with other trades to perform tasks in boiler rooms, mechanical rooms, and other designated areas.
- Operate and troubleshoot boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, and power generation systems.
- Maintain detailed logs and respond to alarms and emergencies.
- Collaborate with other facilities personnel to optimize system performance.
- Perform pressure vessel firing operations and other related duties.
- Regulate flame sizes and operate boiler controls according to varying loads.
- Start and operate boilers as needed.
Requirements
- High School Graduate, with a General Studies degree.
- Minimum 2 years of boiler and plant operations experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Minimum 2 years of general knowledge in hospital facility repair and maintenance operations, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC controls.
- Fire Safety certification within 90 days of hire.
- A valid Stationary Engineer license, specifically a City of Los Angeles Steam Engineer - Unlimited HP license.
