About the role

The Stationary Engineer will oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of critical mechanical and electrical systems within Northridge Hospital Medical Center, ensuring a stable and efficient facility for all occupants.

Responsibilities

  • Work with other trades to perform tasks in boiler rooms, mechanical rooms, and other designated areas.
  • Operate and troubleshoot boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, and power generation systems.
  • Maintain detailed logs and respond to alarms and emergencies.
  • Collaborate with other facilities personnel to optimize system performance.
  • Perform pressure vessel firing operations and other related duties.
  • Regulate flame sizes and operate boiler controls according to varying loads.
  • Start and operate boilers as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate, with a General Studies degree.
  • Minimum 2 years of boiler and plant operations experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum 2 years of general knowledge in hospital facility repair and maintenance operations, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC controls.
  • Fire Safety certification within 90 days of hire.
  • A valid Stationary Engineer license, specifically a City of Los Angeles Steam Engineer - Unlimited HP license.
