Stationary Engineer Lead

Overview

The Stationary Lead Engineer will efficiently operate the Central Energy Plant, assist with Facility Operations and to maintain the HVAC equipment in a medical facility.

Responsibilities

• Operate central plant with a focus on energy conservation.
• Oversee sub-contractors as needed to ensure quality and timely completion of work.
• Complete daily rounds keeping accurate logs of operations, maintenance and safety activities.
• Able to maintain a positive attitude and team morale.
• Participate in on-going energy conservations efforts for all Plant and HVAC equipment operations.
• Adhere to the Plant Operating Manual and Emergency SOP's.
• Aid in the coordination of construction activities ensuring there is no interference with normal operations.
• Keep Chief Engineer apprised of parts and materials inventories so spare parts can be ordered timely.
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic efforts with or without remote support services team.
• Timely completion of Work Tickets and PM's.
• Keep logs of operation, maintenance and safety activities.
• Test water in chilled, condenser, hot water and steam systems to assure chemical levels and conductivity are within specified ranges.

Qualifications

• Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
• Background in HVAC maintenance and repair.
• Experience in operating a BAS.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast paced environment.
• Well versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
• Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.
• Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
• 5 years in central energy plant and facility operations experience preferred.
• City of New Orleans 1st or 2nd class A/C and Boilers license preferred but not required.
• Hospital or Lab Experience preferred but not required.

Travel Requirements

0-5% of the time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Climbing stairs.
• Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Quiet environment.
• Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range

USD $27.92 - USD $37.29 /Hr.
