Stationary Engineer
About the Role
Keswick is seeking a dedicated Licensed Stationary / Building Engineer to maintain the continuous operation of the boiler room and associated plant equipment, including HVAC systems, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards. This role is based in Baltimore, MD.
Responsibilities
- Boiler Operation: Operate and monitor the boiler room and HVAC equipment per manufacturers' specifications to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Monitor the Building Automation system, adjust equipment as needed, read meters and gauges, and maintain logbooks. Conduct daily rounds to ensure proper functioning.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and monitor the emergency generator according to NFPA regulations, ensuring it is fueled and operational. Operate water treatment systems, maintain proper water treatment levels, and ensure cooling towers function correctly. Maintain air handlers and equipment logs.
- Equipment Repairs: Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment to ensure continuous operation. Interpret schematics or manuals for repairs and create parts orders with necessary information.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, pumps, and motors. Clean and maintain major equipment.
- Inspections: Prepare boilers for state inspections, including cleaning and refractory patching. Close boilers post-inspection and ensure safe operation. Develop and follow up on correction plans.
- General Maintenance Repairs: Repair or replace lighting, electrical devices, and troubleshoot electrical systems. Perform plumbing repairs, including sinks, faucets, toilets, and pipes. Perform carpentry duties such as drywall repair, furniture assembly, and exterior grounds maintenance. Complete assigned work orders.
- Life Safety: Comply with all safety programs and procedures. Support emergency disaster situations. Maintain a safe and productive work environment, including tool upkeep.
- Additional Duties: Assist with exterior grounds work, snow/ice removal, and driving company vehicles for transportation or supplies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3rd Grade Stationary Engineer License required; 2nd Grade preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 3 years of boiler experience as an operating engineer.
- Experience in the healthcare industry preferred.
- Willingness to attend seminars/training classes to improve performance.

Pay
$40-45/hr (based on experience) with a $6,000 sign-on/stay-on bonus.
