Responsibilities
- Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair high-pressure boilers and chillers
- Maintain/repair the chillers and boilers that provide heating and cooling to the university campus
- Monitor systems and maintain records of equipment operations; escalate issues as needed
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, maintains strict attention to detail when working on job sites; recognize safety hazards and propose methods to correct/eliminate them
- Escort vendors onsite to perform routine preventative maintenance or repairs as needed
- Able to work rotating shifts and respond within 45 minutes to after-hours emergency maintenance requests as needed; shifts: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm; 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm; 10:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Requirements
- Sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties
Qualifications
- Certification from an accredited HVAC trade school
- 2-4 years' experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC equipment or High-Pressure Boiler/Steam/Chiller work environment
- Ability to lift, carry/push equipment, supplies and other job-related items weighing 50 lbs or more
- Valid Tennessee Driver’s License
