Duties And Responsibilities
- Aid the station manager and assistant manager in the operation of the inspection station.
- Offer assistance with the remitter program.
- Assist with manpower needs of the station.
- Perform overt auditing as directed by the station manager or assistant manager.
- Conduct waiver inspections on all applicable vehicles and grant waivers according to IEPA guidelines.
- Travel to other stations as needed to provide staffing support.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the station manager.
Knowledge And Skills
- Ability to learn and understand the function of selected emissions control devices.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good time management and teambuilding skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing outstanding customer service and satisfaction.
- Able to interact professionally with a diverse population in a variety of situations.
- Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiently.
- Able to enter and exit customer vehicles, stoop, bend, and reach.
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions.
Education And Work Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous vehicle inspection experience is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.
