Auditing Technician

This role offers the chance to build skills while ensuring accurate audit results that support SWIF's statewide mission.

Description of Work

  • Audit Processing: Receive and review mail, voluntary, physical, and monthly payroll audits; collect and organize data needed to assess various audit components and make premium determinations; validate and enter required data
  • Comprehensive Reviews: Examine all audit components; identify and document changes or updates required and any audit errors
  • Workflow Decisions: Determine when classification changes, re-audits, re-assignments, and other actions are needed; send notifications to the correct teams for processing
  • Internal Collaboration: Work with accounting, collections, and legal staff regarding requests for disputes, invoicing, or other issues; respond to written requests for copies of audits and premium invoices
  • Stakeholder Communication: Send notifications, call, and correspond with insureds, agents, brokers, and regulatory agencies regarding audit issues
  • Process Documentation: Create detailed electronic notes for pending issues, telephone conversations, correspondence, explanations, and actions required and taken pertaining to audit related matters

Work Schedule and Additional Information

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
  • If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Scranton. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years in casualty insurance auditing and/or underwriting experience which included the assignment of classifications and application of proper rates, premium computations, policy assessment, and the issuance of new or revised policies; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Additional Requirements: You must demonstrate the ability to adhere to the values and ethics of the Department of Labor and Industry. You must demonstrate the ability to work with professionalism, discretion, and good work ethic. You must have solid written and verbal communication skills. You must show initiative and problem-solving skills. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
