The State Properties Security Officer (SPSO) serves as an armed and uniformed civilian member of the Michigan State Police, ensuring the safety and well-being of visitors, employees, and the public within state-owned buildings and properties.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- State Properties Security Officer 7: No specific education or experience required.
- State Properties Security Officer E8: One year of experience as a law enforcement officer and current MCOLES certification.
- State Properties Security Officer 9: Two years of experience as a law enforcement officer and current MCOLES certification.
