About the role

Seeking a self-motivated and outgoing individual to assist management with park merchandise sales operations.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer requests in-person, by phone, or email.
• Operate the park's merchandise trailer on scheduled days.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Process and handle purchases.
• Reconcile revenue for cash registers.
• Prepare cash and credit revenue deposits.
• Conduct inventory counts.
• Ensure workspace and customer contact areas are neat, clean, and organized.
• Maintain accurate and neat filing and storage.
• Perform general office administration duties as assigned.
• Serve as support staff for park leadership.

Requirements

• Proficient in operating point of sale systems and cash management.
• Excellent internal and external customer service and communication skills, including in-person, phone, and email.
• Ability to work well with other staff, volunteers, and park guests both independently and as a team member.
• Ability to lift 10-20 pounds as part of regular job duties.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Required to work weekends and holidays.
• Expected 16 hours per week.
• A valid State Driver's License is required if operating a state or personal vehicle for agency business.

Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a criminal history background check. Selected candidates must complete the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form. DCR participates in E-Verify.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar office applications preferred.
• Prior experience in a park setting or related field is preferred, but not required.

Pay

Hourly Rate: $15.00

Schedule

This is a year-round, part-time position, with limited hours December through February. Wage/seasonal positions are limited to 1,500 hours from May 1 to April 30.

• Fifty percent discount on cabins (up to 3 bedrooms) outside of Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, for a maximum of 14 nights. All reservations require a two-night minimum.
• Bunkhouses, camping cabins, and yurts are included; one-night yurt stays only receive a 25% discount.
