Job openings at DCR Housekeeping and/or Apparel Worker I Housekeeping Ranger Open Until Filled State Parks - James River State Park Apply Now Hourly Rate: 13.00 per hour James River State Park is seeking applications for the Housekeeping Ranger position. The primary focus of this position includes proper and prompt cleaning of cabins, restrooms, campground bathhouses and other park structures, efficient turnover of overnight facilities before check-in time, and the ability to work independently. This position will be responsible for inventorying cabin supplies to ensure they are available for the next guest. The Housekeeping Ranger performs light maintenance and cleaning tasks necessary to operate state park facilities. Minimum Qualifications Must be 17 years old, have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must and be willing to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. Additional Considerations Cleaning & supervisory experience. Special Requirements For all positions, experience is not required, but is preferred. We provide on the job training. Weekends and holiday work required. Employees may be required to perform other park related duties during emergencies, or on a non-recurring basis. Seasonal summer jobs can be an outstanding first step toward a lasting career with the park service. There are no health benefits or paid vacation leave associated with the job. Employees are limited to working no more than 1500 hours in 12 months from May 1 to April 30. A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
