Building Service Attendant (Housekeeping) - Environmental Services - AOMC - PT - Evenings

Main Function

Performs a variety of cleaning techniques including dusting, mopping, scrubbing and the use of heavy equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleans and services Arnot Health areas, moves furniture, equipment and supplies in and around the hospital in an orderly and sanitary manner, i.e.: sweeps, mops, vacuums floors, shampoos carpets, and damp dusts furniture.
• Transport and set up furniture for meetings, run small extractors, floor machines and small burnishers.
• Load linen and microfiber carts and bins to predetermined par levels and complete deliveries at scheduled times; complete all functions associated with the linen processes.
• Collect soiled linen and soiled microfiber products from designated areas and deliver to the soiled holding area; complete all functions associated with the soiled linen processes.
• Wash walls, ceiling tiles, vents, windows inside and out, and window screens, light fixtures, and other high dusting requiring a ladder.
• Take care of garbage and medical waste and follow proper procedure on packing needle containers.
• Complete regular housecleaning in an assigned area using proper procedures; replenish supplies as needed; complete isolation cleaning using proper procedure.
• Change drapes and cubicle curtains as required and move beds as needed.
• Clean the morgue after an autopsy has been performed and the major portion has been cleaned (General Houseclean).
• Observe safety rules and report safety and health hazards to supervisor.
• Operate all equipment in a correct, safe manner and clean equipment after each use; maintain neat and clean work and storage areas.
• Attend all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position.
• Interact with customers/patients in a friendly and caring way, being attentive to their psychological and physical needs, and maintain communication to provide a secure and pleasant experience with Arnot Health.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to read and understand both verbal and written instructions.

Experience

No previous experience necessary.

CPR Requirements

No CPR required.

Physical Demands

Required to be on feet much of the time. Reaching, bending, stooping and lifting.

Exposure Category

Category II: tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Employment may require performing unplanned Category I tasks.
