Job Description

The HVAC Service Technician IV at Corvant is responsible for maintaining open, positive, and professional communication with various stakeholders. Key responsibilities include starting up and testing equipment, installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems, logging startup information, meeting deadlines, managing inventory, adhering to safety protocols, cleaning and adjusting HVAC systems, providing technical guidance, and working flexible hours.

Job Responsibilities

  • Startup and test equipment on commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and equipment.
  • Log all startup information and service work orders into company-provided iPads.
  • Meet equipment startup deadlines and inform the Service Manager of any issues.
  • Maintain inventory and cleanliness of company-provided vehicles.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures of Rogers Mechanical and General Contractors.
  • Cleaning, adjusting, and maintaining HVAC systems.
  • Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to customers.
  • Must be able to work after hours, weekends with short notice.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of air duct distribution systems, commercial and industrial.
  • Know relevant building codes, current legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures for the installation and maintenance of systems.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of HVAC equipment function and operations.
  • Ability to properly braze copper refrigerant piping.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and mechanical prints.
  • Air duct distribution systems in commercial and industrial.
  • Relevant policies and procedures of installation and maintenance.
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults on HVAC systems.
  • Ability to safely work at elevations such as roofs, scissor lifts, and ladders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other trades.
  • Time management skills.
  • Familiar with Building Automation Systems.

Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • An OSHA 10 Certification is required.
  • EPA certification is required.
  • Must have ten or more years of experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds.
