Start Your Own Practice | Nurse Practitioner | Maryland | Fall 2026

Kinstead · Baltimore, MD · 4 wk ago
Hybrid$100–$150/hrFull-time

About the role

Kinstead helps experienced Nurse Practitioners across Maryland start their own independent practices, providing the business and operational support needed to make it doable. You own your practice, choose the patients you serve, and set your schedule. This isn’t a traditional NP job — you can begin part‑time while keeping your current position and grow at a pace that fits your goals, whether that means more time with each patient, greater flexibility, higher take‑home pay, or finally having something of your own. More than 45 NPs have already partnered with Kinstead to launch and expand their practices.

Qualifications

  • Experienced FNP, PMHNP, or other Nurse Practitioner
  • Active Maryland NP license that meets the state’s requirements for independent practice
  • Several years of experience caring for patients
  • Strong ties to the community you hope to serve
  • Have thought about starting your own practice (even if you’re unsure where to begin)
  • Desire for greater ownership over how you care for patients and how you structure your work

Benefits

  • Insurance credentialing and payer contracting
  • Billing, coding, and revenue cycle management
  • EHR and technology support
  • Scheduling and patient intake
  • Virtual front desk with real humans answering patient calls
  • Business setup, legal, and compliance support
  • Website and marketing support
  • Tools and support to grow your patient panel

Pay

NPs who build a practice with Kinstead typically take home around $100–$150 per clinical hour, with the potential to earn around $250,000 annually in a full‑time practice. Startup costs are usually less than $3,000, and most practices can cover basic costs with fewer than three patient visits per month.

Schedule

You decide the patients you want to serve and what your schedule looks like. You do not need to leave your current job; many NPs start with just a few hours a week while continuing elsewhere and grow at their own pace. Your practice may remain part‑time or eventually replace your current position, depending on what works best for you and the community you serve.
