Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, quality coffee selection, purchase and preparation to customers.
- Maintain and monitor total department conditions to ensure standards are met and exceeded.
- Handle stressful situations calmly, courteously, and tactfully, making a positive impression on associates and customers.
- Execute and adhere to all Starbucks programs, policies, and promotions.
- Assist in supervision and direction of department personnel to ensure quality customer service.
- Delegate job assignments and responsibilities to associates in accordance with duty rosters.
- Order and maintain stock and supplies, monitoring conditions and appearance.
- Monitor code dates and product rotation, removing out-of-code products.
- Hold personnel in department accountable for their job assignments and responsibilities.
- Write department schedules, coordinate requests and bids, and meet business needs.
- Prepare a variety of customer beverage orders, including espresso drinks and Coffee of the Day.
- Perform cleaning tasks in accordance with cleaning standards.
- Present oneself professionally and demonstrate clear communication with all customer and partner interactions.
- Perform equipment maintenance in accordance with preventative maintenance checklist.
- Follow cash handling and register policies.
- Follow inventory stocking and recording guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with customers and associates.
- Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
- Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
Qualifications
- Trained and certified barista.
- Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
- Prior food handling experience.
- Supervisory skills.
