Standardized Patient - Phoenix
Position Summary
Note: This position is a temporary position working various hours and is not benefit eligible.
About the Role
Creighton University’s Phoenix Health Sciences Campus is home to six unique healthcare programs that use simulation to develop student learning. Being an SP impacts the students' experience during their education and can be greatly rewarding.
Responsibilities
- Utilize Standardized Patients (SP) for simulated clinical encounters, physical exams, interviews, and more.
- Portray patients in educational simulated encounters with students.
- Be trained to recreate physical characteristics, memorize and present medical histories, and have physical exams performed on you.
- Provide feedback to students on their communication skills.
Requirements
- Meet specific patient criteria for the case.
- Be on time to attend events and trainings.
- Have great communication skills (in-person, phone, and email) and be willing to provide students with constructive feedback.
- Be able to memorize information about the patient’s physical condition and history.
- Able to provide feedback in written and verbal form after training.

Schedule
Most events occur Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm with some weekend events available. SPs will be asked to attend mandatory trainings which could be in person or via zoom. Events will largely occur in-person at Creighton’s Phoenix Health Sciences Campus located on 3100 N Central Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85012.
