Standardized Patient

Grand Canyon University (GCU) is a private, nondenominational Christian university in Arizona. The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions is seeking a part‑time Standardized Patient for its East Valley campus in Chandler.

Location: 4100 W. Chandler Blvd., Chandler, AZ

Responsibilities

• Portray all aspects of the patient scenario—including history, affect/behavior, and physical findings—in a standardized, accurate, and reliable manner.
• Provide written and face‑to‑face verbal feedback to the student and supervising faculty member.
• Accept ongoing feedback and incorporate it into future case simulations.
• Respond to e‑mails in a timely fashion.
• Be punctual and keep scheduled appointments.
• Support GCU’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission by providing a positive example to students.

Requirements

• Ability to work a flexible schedule of appointments (schedule provided in advance).
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to the scheduled facility.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pass required patient competencies before deployment (training will be provided).
• Interest in strengthening the diversity of the academic community.

Schedule

Approximately 10–15 hours per week when simulation is scheduled. Simulations run for 5–6 hours, starting at 7:30 am on weekdays only.

Compensation

$27 per hour.
