About the role

The Stand up-Forklift Operator plays a crucial role in the Operations Department under the supervision of the General Manager. This position requires flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to learn and adapt to various tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the business goals by working the hours needed, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Remains punctual and prepared for work, completing tasks in a timely, accurate, and consistent manner.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and follows company values.
  • Seeks out additional work and goes above and beyond required tasks.
  • Participates in pre-shift meetings and department meetings, promoting teamwork and assisting in all areas and processes.
  • Maintains high standards of quality work, adhering to the "Only Handle It Once" (OHIO) principle.
  • Fulfills all written and verbal instructions provided by management and reports all issues promptly.
  • Ensures safety by following all rules, guidelines, and practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Meets established productivity standards and understands the operations and customer work instructions.
  • Ensures error and damage-free inbound and outbound shipments, scanning products accurately and reporting any damages.
  • Maintains inventory accuracy and reports discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Displays initiative by being knowledgeable about multiple accounts and job functions within the operation.

Requirements

  • Able to obtain and maintain a forklift license.
  • Able to use a handheld RF Scan Device.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Able to perform tasks requiring twisting, stooping, squatting, and reaching above shoulder level.
  • Work in a non-climate controlled environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • At least one year of experience operating a forklift.
  • Experience with handheld RF Scan Devices.
  • Ability to follow safety and security policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
