STAIRS & RAILINGS INSTALLER

Key Responsibilities

• Install custom staircases and railings (wood, metal, glass, or mixed materials) at residential and commercial job sites.
• Follow layout drawings, blueprints, and work instructions with accuracy.
• Prepare and set stair stringers, treads, rail posts, balusters, handrails, and other components to ensure a perfect fit and finish.
• Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently to cut, shape, and secure materials.
• Perform quality checks during and after installation to guarantee stability, level lines, and clean details.
• Protect client properties by maintaining a clean and organized worksite.
• Communicate with supervisors and project managers about progress, challenges, and schedule updates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of stair and/or railing installation experience or related carpentry work.
• Solid understanding of tools, materials, and installation techniques typical to staircase and railing work.
• Able to read and interpret installation drawings and layouts.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on craftsmanship and quality finishes.
• Able to work independently and collaborate with other trades on-site.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites on Long Island and the NYC area.

Compensation

Competitive hourly wage or salary based on experience. Exact terms will be tailored individually based on skills and contribution.

Schedule

Full-time position, Monday through Friday (occasional weekend work as needed).
