Stage Technician On-Call - Performing Arts Center

About the role

This is a two year temporary, intermittent, on-call position. This position is responsible for a variety of technical specialties that provide production support for events in the Center. This includes day-to-day operation of the facilities and equipment for events, classrooms or meetings, and event audio-visual support. Duties are performed under the supervision of a Stage Manager or crew leader to ensure proper use of technical equipment and to ensure the safety of all involved, by following safety standards, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follows verbal and written directions/instructions.
• Establishes effective working relationships and maintains a positive and productive working atmosphere in a group environment.
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of safety in the workplace and ability and willingness to follow safety rules and practices pertaining to backstage theatre work.
• Performs complex technical set-ups under stress and within pressing deadlines.
• Keeps up-to-date on University infrastructure, policies and procedures.

Requirements

• One year of experience working for a performing arts center, theater, repertory or stock company engaged in the applicable production specialty such as costume construction, stage and set construction, lighting production, and/or sound/audio production.

• Working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn University infrastructure, policies and procedures.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $22.78 - $25.15 per hour
Classification Range: $21.47 - $31.27 per hour
