Stage FLOSS Developer

About the role

Post-X Society is a FLOSS-first organization that rejects proprietary platforms like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and AWS. We develop our own tools, run our own servers, and prioritize Free/Libre Open Source Software—not for techno-utopian ideals, but because digital infrastructure is power, and power should be democratically controlled.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom tools for our projects
• Implement and maintain FLOSS solutions (e.g., Matrix Synapse, Element, Pretix, WordPress, Listmonk)
• Manage our servers and digital infrastructure
• Evaluate new FLOSS alternatives
• Document processes to help others transition away from Big Tech

Requirements

• Currently studying HBO/WO ICT or equivalent experience
• Experience with Linux, self-hosting, and open-source development
• Critical perspective on technology as a tool for societal change, not a neutral instrument
• Frustration with surveillance capitalism and closed software
