Responsibilities
The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the scheduling needs of nursing staff in all inpatient programs in conjunction with Program Coordinators. This individual coordinates the assignment of pool and float staff to supplement program schedule vacancies and staffing needs.
This individual performs responsibilities in accordance with established policies and procedures and in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of The Horsham Clinic.
- Opens and closes schedules, provides open shift availability to team.
- Clearly communicates with staff on opening/closing of graphs.
- Reviews and revises scheduling guidelines in conjunction with nursing leadership according to department policies and hospital standards.
- Develops unit schedule for Float Pool, Nurse, and Mental Health Tech staff.
- Adheres to the unit and department guidelines for scheduling.
- Corresponds with staff regarding the schedule and requests.
- Creates and maintains summer vacation calendar.
- Maintains staff schedules including being the contact person for requesting of days off, vacations and switches.
- Regularly participates in hospital wide-scheduler meetings.
- PARTNERS WITH LEADERSHIP ON DAILY OPERATIONS OF THE SCHEDULE.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma is required.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in staffing and scheduling.
- Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to communicate clearly, work proactively and collaborate within a team.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting.
- Previous experience in behavioral health/mental health/human services.
- Previous knowledge of UKG.
- Ability to directly communicate with staff via email and phone in a clear, friendly, and professional manner.
- Ability to assess problems that arise, developing solution/options before escalating to manager.
