Hybrid$258k–$522k/yrFull-time

At Bending Spoons, we’re striving to build one of the all-time great companies—a company that serves a huge number of customers, where team members grow to their full potential, and that functions at unparalleled levels of effectiveness and efficiency. We acquire and improve digital businesses for the long term, making deep transformations to speed up innovation, benefit customers, and strengthen business performance. Here, hierarchy is minimal, teams are small and talent-dense, and we operate established products with the ambition, agility, and urgency of a startup. Across the company, we integrate AI deeply into how we work so that human judgment and machine intelligence reinforce each other.

About the role

A deep foundation in accounting and finance is preferred. Exceptional candidates from adjacent fields may be considered. Recent graduates and early-career professionals are encouraged to apply. This position can be performed only from the US.

Responsibilities

  • Influence our financial strategy. Partner closely with the leadership team to shape long-term planning, capital allocation, investment decisions, and other major strategic choices with significant implications.
  • Drive financial planning and performance management. Support budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance tracking to help the business achieve its goals.
  • Improve reporting and financial processes. Contribute to accurate financial reporting, strengthen controls, support compliance requirements, and help prepare for audits.
  • Support cash and capital management. Assist with treasury activities, cash flow forecasting, financial planning, and relationships with banking partners.
  • Improve business economics. Identify opportunities to improve profitability, optimize costs, and evaluate investments and resource allocation.
  • Build scalable finance capabilities. Help develop finance tools, processes, and reporting systems that enable a growing and increasingly complex organization.

Requirements

  • Reasoning ability. Given the necessary knowledge, you can solve complex problems. You think from first principles, structure your ideas sharply, resist biases, and identify the details that matter.
  • Outstanding relevant experience. You have a strong technical foundation in accounting, finance, and tax, and are comfortable building financial models, preparing financial statements, and developing forecasts and budgets in complex environments.
  • Drive. You’re extremely ambitious, and your initiative, effort, and tenacity match that ambition. You feel deeply responsible for your work and hold yourself to a high—and rising—bar.
  • Team spirit. You give generously without expectation of return, support the best idea (not just your own), and are always willing to get your hands dirty to help your team. You’re reliable, honest, and transparent.

Benefits

  • Incredibly talented, entrepreneurial teams. Work in small, result-oriented, autonomous teams alongside some of the brightest people in your field.
  • Exceptional opportunity for impact. Play a key role in shaping the future of a company with sky-high ambitions and a proven track record.
  • Lead the US expansion of one of Europe’s most successful tech companies. Help guide a company valued at several billion toward even greater success.
  • Competitive pay and access to company equity at a discount.

Pay

Typically, we offer individuals with limited experience an annual salary of $204,281 in the United States. For candidates we assess as possessing exceptional potential and highly unusual achievement, compensation typically ranges from $257,642 to $522,120. Compensation varies by location and expected impact. In higher-cost markets such as New York City, offers are generally positioned toward the upper end of the range. As you grow your expertise and increase your contributions, your compensation can grow rapidly alongside your impact.

Schedule

  • Permanent or fixed-term contract.
  • Full-time.
  • Location: Miami (FL), Boston (MA), New York (NY), Atlanta (GA), or fully remote from eligible countries.

During your first few months, we expect you to spend most days in our Milan office to rapidly absorb our company culture and build trust with your new teammates, regardless of your long-term work location. We’ll support you with generous travel and accommodation assistance. After that, you’re welcome to work from one of our offices or remotely from approved countries, depending on what we agree at the offer stage.
