Staff Technical Product Manager
About the role
The Staff Technical Product Manager will define the strategy and lead execution of digital solutions for the Quality organization, focusing on scaling AI across GE Aerospace's Quality Management System (QMS).
Responsibilities
Own product strategy and roadmap
Define and communicate a clear product vision aligned to business outcomes and customer needs
Maintain, prioritize, and continuously refine the product backlog, MVPs, and quarterly release plans
Balance new features, technical debt, and defect resolution to maximize value delivery
Lead AI-driven rapid prototyping
Use AI tools (e.g., Claude Opus with Visual Studio Code) to quickly create and iterate on working prototypes with stakeholders
Capture and codify lessons learned and best practices for “vibe coding” and AI-assisted prototyping, and feed them into future product iterations
Collaborate with software engineering to harden prototypes into scalable, secure, production-ready solutions
Engage deeply with customers and stakeholders
Conduct VOC sessions, interviews, and persona development to validate problems and refine requirements
Translate ambiguous or unstructured requests into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
Use strong influencing and negotiation skills to align customers, product, UX, architecture, and engineering around a single prioritized view
Provide technical and delivery leadership
Partner closely with engineering, UX, and architecture for refinement, design, and validation
Ensure a healthy Agile delivery process; own sprint and release backlogs and support high-quality execution
Coach and elevate the organization
Mentor junior TPMs and team members; provide technical product leadership across the organization
Apply and coach Agile practices; model continuous improvement and data-driven decision making
Demonstrate superior product and industry knowledge to help the organization gain a competitive edge
Desired Characteristics
Strong knowledge of software design and coding principles
Experience applying lean/continuous improvement principles to drive measurable outcomes in manufacturing or operations
Experience “vibe coding” with AI and integrating AI into product workflows
Demonstrated knowledge of topics such as APIs, caching, data transfer, scalability, and security
Skilled at breaking down complex problems, framing clear problem statements, and estimating effort
Strong negotiation skills to balance and align competing stakeholder priorities
Influences through others and builds strong cross-functional support for ideas
Able to anticipate downstream implications of decisions and adjust strategies accordingly
Communicates the “why” behind decisions and continuously reflects to improve judgment
Applies and coaches Agile practices; models continuous improvement and data-driven decision making
Demonstrates superior product and industry knowledge to help the organization gain a competitive edge
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 4 years of professional experience
Associates degree with minimum of 7 years of professional experience
High School Diploma with minimum of 9 years of professional experience
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in product strategy and roadmap development
