About the role
Areté is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist with strong full-cycle recruiting experience to support national security missions through exceptional hiring. This full-time, in-office, exempt, non-supervisory position is based in Northridge, CA, Niwot, CO, or Tucson, AZ, and offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise within a collaborative, mission-driven HR team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with end-to-end recruitment for a diverse range of roles supporting DoD programs, including both technical and administrative positions.
- Oversee onboarding processes such as background checks, security clearance verifications, and other compliance requirements.
- Recruit and screen candidates ensuring alignment with current company needs.
- Collaborate closely with hiring managers, security teams, and other departments to facilitate smooth hiring and onboarding experiences.
- Handle candidate communications and interview coordination with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Utilize sourcing tools, including LinkedIn Recruiter, ClearanceJobs, and similar platforms, to identify and engage qualified candidates.
- Support HR and Talent Acquisition initiatives and assist with process improvements as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate data and recruitment metrics in applicant tracking systems and other HR platforms.

Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in full-cycle recruitment across technical and administrative roles.
- Current experience using ADP Workforce Now Recruitment Module or similar ATS to maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate data and recruitment metrics.
- Current knowledge of federal and state employment laws pertaining to recruitment activities.
- Ability to conduct behavioral and competency-based interviews.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow established recruitment processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality in a sensitive environment.
- Eligible to obtain and hold a Top-Secret clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Successful passage of a criminal background screen and Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test is required.
Preferred Skills
- HR Generalist experience.
- PHR or similar certification.
- Degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
- Knowledge of DoD security clearances and onboarding processes.
- Experience recruiting candidates with security clearances.
- Basic understanding of DoD contract structures and workforce requirements.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $115,000. Areté considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
