Staff Systems Architect Engineer
About the role
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Systems Architect Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, Florida. This position requires a Secret clearance and is contingent upon program funding.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the overarching Strategic IFC Plan for each product line.
- Translate the strategic vision into detailed IFC plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Align the work of hardware and software IPTs with the IFC schedule and milestones.
- Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop rigorous and proper systems engineering and design artifacts.
- Work with technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature WS design of a large program.
- Oversee the evolution of the IFC plan through architecture, hardware, and software design phases.
- Manage functional activities such as testing, quality assurance, logistics support, and readiness for ground- and flight-test phases.
- Lead the IFC effort to certification, ensuring the integrated product set satisfies functional and performance requirements.
- Compile and deliver the IFC system certificate package for ground test, flight test, developmental/operational test, and evaluation.
- Expand technical breadth across a diverse portfolio of mission threads.
- Drive the transition from traditional systems engineering rigor to lean-agile, model-based processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor of science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline with 12 years of related experience OR Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of related experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related experience.
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation).
- Experience in systems engineering, with exposure to hardware, software, and integrated architecture, inclusive of engineering frameworks (MBSE, SysML).
- Experience on large scale / complex system development experience across multiple phases of a development program: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell off, transition to production.
Qualifications

Skills
- Proven record delivering integrated weapon-system capabilities (e.g., missiles, directed-energy, unmanned platforms).
- Experience resolving issues and providing technical support.
- Experience coordinating with multi-cross functional teams to create cohesive system engineering products.
- Familiarity with DoDAF, MIL-STD-499, ACAT acquisition processes.
- Experience in model-based analysis, trade studies, and performance-modeling tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Experience in presenting complex technical concepts to senior military and industry stakeholders.
- Experience with SE events (e.g., PDR, CDR).
- Familiarity with lean-agile and model-based engineering frameworks.
- Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing pace.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $152,900.00 - $229,300.00. Base salary offers are determined based on a variety of factors including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

Full-time, 40 hours per week.
