Key Responsibilities
- Perform tasks related to fluid and heat transfer analysis and design of environmental control systems.
- Develop dynamic fluid and heat transfer models of subsystems using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software and classical analysis techniques.
- Interface with related technologies and other Air Vehicle engineering disciplines to prepare and develop thermal system design recommendations.
- Participate in trade studies of Environmental Control System designs and provide solutions to potential or actual design and fabrication problems, providing necessary data on assigned aspects of specific studies.
- Represent the team at internal and external technical reviews, including customer and supplier exchanges.
Basic Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience.
- Must have an active US Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Top Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
- Experience with systems engineering tools.
- Experience working within Agile framework.
- Experience with AMESIM, STAR-CCM+, or other related fluid and thermal modeling software.
- Experience in supplier relationship management, including briefing, coordinating, and/or following up with suppliers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active US Government Top Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience with design, analysis, and integration of environmental control systems.
- Experience with software tools such as NX and/or CPLM.
- Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures.
- Experience writing and reviewing technical documents including SSOWs, SRDs, ICDs, and SDRL reviews.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex technical solutions within cost and schedule constraints across engineering lifecycle phases.
