Description

Help buildings perform better—right from day one! Do you enjoy solving technical puzzles, being on-site where things actually happen, and seeing your work come to life in real buildings? Are you early in your career and ready to grow your expertise in building systems while working alongside seasoned professionals? We’re looking for a Staff Specialist – Commissioning to join our commissioning team and help ensure that building systems work exactly as they’re intended—efficiently, safely, and reliably. Commissioning is where design meets reality. In this role, you’ll be hands-on with real projects, learning how mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems operate in the field—not just on paper. • Execute testing procedures and document results clearly and accurately
  • Track issues, maintain action logs, and help drive resolutions
  • Aid in commissioning reports that tell the full story of how systems perform
  • Support troubleshooting efforts when systems don’t perform as expected
  • Support construction administration
  • Review O&M manuals to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Aid in contractor submittals and ensure alignment with construction documents
  • Prepare field observation reports noting progress and any deficiencies
  • Review Testing and Balancing (TAB) reports for compliance
  • Get out in the field
  • Travel locally—and occasionally out of town—to support active projects
  • Work on job sites in a variety of environments and conditions
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project teams

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (mechanical, electrical)
  • 2+ years of experience in building systems design, construction, or commissioning
  • Foundational knowledge of building systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment
