Staff Software Engineer (Platform - Access & Authorization)
About the Role
For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer (platform - Access & Authorization) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a regulated financial services environment.
Location
Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation
$218,025 – $256,500 annually
Responsibilities
- Own the design and operation of authentication and authorization capabilities
- Build secure Go and gRPC services to enhance various company experiences
- Lead the technical design on complex security initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for balancing user experience and security
- Simplify integration processes and create self-service tools for product teams
- Mentor engineers and elevate the team's technical standards through reviews
Qualifications
- 8+ years of backend software engineering experience, proficient in Go or similar language
- Experience designing secure APIs and managing authentication/authorization intricacies
- Proficient in gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and data storage solutions like Redis or DynamoDB
- Demonstrated track record of delivering cross-functional technical projects effectively
- Ability to responsibly utilize generative AI to enhance workflow outputs
