Staff Software Engineer, Marketing technology
About the Role
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Content Platform team at Airbnb, you'll provide hands-on technical leadership to build an agentic platform for creating onsite and offsite content in a no-code manner. The team is transforming the platform into an AI-driven system that can turn a marketing brief into a fully realized campaign quickly. You'll work with a talented team to build technology that drives Airbnb's growth, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners across design, product, and marketing.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical vision for the platform with a product-first mindset.
- Lead and contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, implementation, testing, experimentation, and deployment.
- Participate in code and design reviews, offering constructive feedback to improve technical quality.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, creative, and design teams to drive impactful outcomes.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s and/or Master/PhD’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in backend systems with large-scale service-oriented architecture.
- Hands-on experience architecting and developing agentic systems.
- Experience with Java, Kotlin, LangGraph, GraphQL, relational and NoSQL databases, caching solutions like Redis, and micro-service architecture.
- Passion for efficiency, availability, and system quality.
- Strong communication skills with experience driving cross-team and cross-departmental initiatives.
Location
This is a US-based remote position. Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required, as agreed upon with your manager. You must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. Click here for the up-to-date list of excluded states.
Pay
The base pay range for this role is $212,000—$265,000 USD. The actual base pay is dependent upon factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
