Overview

Ripping gives businesses one place to manage HR, IT, and Finance. It consolidates various workforce systems into a single system, allowing for the automation of the entire employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Drive AI-First Automation: Build AI-driven workflows to eliminate manual overhead, such as automatically determining the exact specs needed for engineers versus recruiters and automating inventory replenishment.
  • Arcitect Global Expansion: Design the integration layer that connects Rippling to multiple third-party suppliers and logistics providers worldwide to scale fulfillment capabilities from 40 to 130 countries.
  • Master Complex Integrations: Build resilient systems to handle data discrepancies and ensure the "source of truth" in Rippling remains pristine.
  • Fullstack Product Ownership: Work across the full stack to build intuitive interfaces for admins to track their global fleet.
  • Bridge Physical & Digital Security: Ensure every computer shipped is automatically provisioned with "always-on" encryption, antivirus, and compliance software.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead complex backend architecture and have proven experience as a Staff or Principal Engineer in a product-oriented environment.
  • Fullstack Proficiency: Strong expertise in Backend development (Python/Django preferred) and the ability to work in the Frontend (React).
  • Pragmatic Problem Solving: Experience dealing with "real world" data and building defensive, fault-tolerant systems to handle third-party API unreliability.
  • A Product Mentality: Think about the user experience of Hiring Managers and IT Admins and proactively suggest features that make their lives easier.
  • Experience with Logistics/Integrations (Bonus): Prior experience with warehouse management systems, supply chain logistics, or heavy third-party API integration is a plus.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Staff or Principal Engineer, preferably in a product-oriented environment.
  • Strong expertise in Backend development (Python/Django preferred) with the ability and willingness to jump into the Frontend (React).
  • Experience dealing with "real world" data and building defensive, fault-tolerant systems to handle third-party API unreliability.
  • A Product Mentality: Think about the user experience of Hiring Managers and IT Admins and proactively suggest features that make their lives easier.
  • Prior experience with warehouse management systems, supply chain logistics, or heavy third-party API integration is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High Agency: Comfortable owning the entire lifecycle of a project, from initial discovery with stakeholders to final deployment and maintenance.

Pay

The pay range for this role is: 189,000 - 330,750 USD per year (US Tier 1)
