Staff Software Engineer - Frontend Platform

About the role

Our Infrastructure team is seeking a senior frontend engineer to join our mission of making Harmonic's frontend applications flawless. This role will focus on improving reliability, performance, and developer productivity.

Responsibilities

• Fix core reliability issues: error boundaries, state management, data consistency.
• Optimize performance: virtualization for large datasets, bundle optimization, render performance.
• Create monitoring and observability to catch issues before users do.
• Establish testing strategies that prevent regressions.
• Create abstractions and patterns that help engineers ship faster without breaking things.
• Drive technical decisions and mentor the team through complex migrations.

Requirements

• 7+ years building frontend applications at scale.
• Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern build tooling.
• A track record of fixing production performance issues at scale.
• Strong opinions on frontend architecture, backed by real experience shipping.

Qualifications

• Bonus: experience with discovery systems, search, or recommendation systems (CRM, ATS, or similar).
• Bonus: exposure to venture capital, private markets, or company intelligence data.

Skills

• Competitive compensation range: $210K - $280K.
