Staff Software Engineer - Cloud Platform Products (Agentic Workloads) (Remote)
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Cloud Platform Products (Agentic Workloads) (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space. This role will own technical delivery for cloud platform products that enable scalable, AI-assisted engineering workflows and reliable production operations. You will partner closely with engineers and technical leaders to turn ambiguous initiatives into sequenced execution plans, remove delivery blockers, and improve team throughput through automation and reusable services. The position also plays a key role in strengthening CI/CD, testing, and release practices while helping a high-performing engineering team build, ship, and operate modern cloud-native systems. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities
- Own technical delivery of cloud platform products from design through release and ongoing operation
- Break ambiguous initiatives into well-scoped, sequenced work for engineers
- Identify and remove technical blockers and dependencies before they affect delivery
- Raise team throughput by building reusable services and automation
- Set up and continuously improve the team's delivery practices, including CI/CD and testing strategy
- Champion AI-assisted development to speed up design, build, test, and shipping processes
- Mentor engineers through technical coaching and code reviews
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership across large-scale platforms or distributed systems
- Mastery of an object-oriented programming language, preferably Go
- Extensive experience designing, building, and delivering distributed cloud-native systems
- Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes (GKE) in a production environment
- Experience leading architecture, technical decisions, and delivery across multiple applications or teams

Pay
Compensation: $120,000 – $190,000 annually
