Staff Software Engineer - Backend
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Backend to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role will help shape backend architecture for next-generation AI-driven consumer experiences, with a strong emphasis on reliability, scalability, and security. You will collaborate closely with product, design, operations, and infrastructure partners to deliver high-performance systems that support critical applications and evolving customer needs. The ideal candidate will bring deep distributed systems experience, strong programming skills, and the ability to define technical direction in an environment that values innovation and architectural integrity. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities
- Navigate ambiguity to solve complex problems in new areas
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align architectural goals

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience architecting high-performance, reliable systems in distributed environments
- Advanced programming skills in Golang, Node.js, or React
- Proven ability in system design focused on security, reliability, and scalability
- Extensive experience with industry best practices across the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Strong background in CI/CD and operational excellence for high-quality code delivery

Pay
$185,000 – $200,000 annually
