Staff Software Engineer - Apache Spark

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement next-generation features for massive scale data systems
• Contribute to the Apache Spark project and influence the open-source community
• Develop high-performance features using modern programming languages and data platforms
• Deepen knowledge in core distributed data processing concepts like SQL optimization and fault tolerance
• Tackle challenges with distributed systems in live production clusters
• Conduct root cause analyses and resolve complex deployment issues through debugging and maintenance
• Improve development velocity by enhancing infrastructure and tooling for testing and deployment

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Java, Scala, or other JVM-based languages
• Experience in designing and developing distributed systems
• Proven leadership in delivering complex product enhancements from concept to production
• Passion for clean coding with a focus on software quality and maintainability
• Effective communication skills for collaboration in a distributed team
• Ability to operate independently and problem-solve without constant supervision

Pay

$184,000 – $230,000 annually
