Staff Software Engineer, AI & Recommendations Platform

For our client, a leader in the healthcare space, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the AI & Recommendations Platform team. This role focuses on the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery, working across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of scalable backend systems and APIs
• Architect infrastructure for experimentation and recommendation engines
• Collaborate with ML engineers to productionize models
• Design reliable and maintainable distributed systems
• Drive platform investments for self-service tooling and data pipelines
• Establish reusable patterns for independent innovation
• Integrate emerging AI technologies into workflows
• Mentor engineers and lead complex technical initiatives

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with production systems
• Expertise in backend engineering and distributed systems
• Proven track record in leading large technical initiatives
• Experience with data-intensive applications and ML models
• Proficiency in Python and modern software practices
• Familiarity with ML lifecycle concepts
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Kubernetes

Pay

$120,000 – $160,000 annually
