Staff SOC Engineer - Security Telemetry & Detection Platforms

For our client, we are seeking a Staff SOC Engineer - Security Telemetry & Detection Platforms to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will focus on strengthening the organization’s security telemetry and detection capabilities across enterprise environments. You will own core SIEM, EDR, and SOAR platform performance, helping improve signal quality, reduce noise, and support cost-effective security operations. The position also partners closely with incident response and SOC stakeholders to advance automation, logging standards, and actionable threat detection. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $126,710 – $188,840 annually Responsibilities Administer and enhance the performance of security telemetry platforms, including SIEM and EDR Implement secure logging standards across various environments Design and maintain data pipelines for log routing and transformation Engineer SIEM content with a focus on signal quality and cost control Contribute to automation across SOC tooling and workflows Author and maintain technical documentation and runbooks Engage in incident response activities and develop targeted searches for analysis Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in arts/sciences or equivalent experience required 6+ years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure engineering, or SOC engineering Demonstrated success with SIEM, EDR, and SOAR deployments at enterprise scale Hands-on experience with data ingestion pipelines and log normalization Strong background in detection engineering and content tuning Benefits Health insurance coverage Retirement plan options Participation in annual bonus and potential long-term equity incentive plan Support for work-life balance through a hybrid work model Professional development opportunities Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
