Conduct Phase I, II, III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
Apply knowledge of PADEP's Land Recycling (Act 2) and Storage Tank Programs
Perform environmental site characterization
Responsibilities
- Execute field investigations in hydrogeologic/geologic settings with emphasis on collection of soil, groundwater and vapor samples, various drilling methods, and aquifer evaluations
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Provide consistent quality standards on proposal and project delivery.
- May assist more senior scientists/engineers on large, more complex projects.
- Performs site visits, field observations and field data collection or assignments.
- Implements technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test and collect data and/or document site activities.
- Develops written proposals to clients for approval by senior level professionals.
- Evaluates moderately complex laboratory and field data and assembles in written reports.
- Serves as team member and participates in meetings and communications with client pertaining to specific projects/tasks.
- Oversees work performed by lower level scientists/engineers and Technicians.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related science field and a minimum of 3 years’ related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years’ related experience.
- A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
- Required Certification: Certification in field of expertise required.
