Staff Scientist

Responsibilities

• Lead independent research projects
• Communicate findings at conferences
• Help draft research grants
• Mentor other scientists in the lab
• Manage day-to-day lab functions and compliance

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in biophysics or a related discipline
• Multiple first-author research papers in peer-reviewed journals
• Extensive experience with single-molecule spectroscopy including microscope building and data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation
• A strong foundation in hypothesis-driven, basic research
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Independently motivated to think, plan, conduct, analyze, and document experiments and findings
• A strong track-record of mentoring and engaging with students

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is from $84,406 to $191,755, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
